Important: Smythesdale Shop Closure

Regrettably, we have had to make the very difficult decision to close our beloved Smythesdale saddlery store.

Despite the tremendous effort and sacrifice from our small family – the business has not panned out the way we envisaged. We have done everything in our power to keep the doors open, but at this stage it just isn’t to be. Ultimately, it’s now time to start putting ourselves and the wellbeing of our young children first – and pursue other more lucrative business opportunities (and take a well-deserved break!).

At this stage, the business will continue to operate as per normal, except we will no longer be opening on Sundays. We still intend on continuing to operate One Stop Horse Shop ONLINE for the foreseeable future (and run things from home like we did previously).

For our online customers - all outstanding online orders will be taken care of over the next couple of weeks, and we do sincerely apologise for any recent delays. As I’m sure you can imagine, this decision has been incredibly hard for us to work through – and we do ask for your patience, whilst we make this transition and get things organised.

As we own the Smythesdale premise we operate from, we will be putting it up for lease, and signs will go up shortly.

However if there are any interested parties, who would like to purchase the existing business and branding from us as it currently stands (remaining stock, shop fittings, website/online business plus long term lease contracts for the premises etc) – we are certainly open to any suggestions – and invite you to get in touch with us.

A final closing date will be announced in due course once we have everything in place, but in the meantime, we hope you make the most of our remaining time here in Smythesdale. Whilst we won’t be ordering anymore stockfeed, we still have plenty of amazing clothing and gear for you to enjoy and grab whilst you can(!).

The horse float will still be available for hire from the shop for now, and once we’re closed we are happy to continue that service from home.

And anyone with consignment saddles in the store are welcome to keep them here until we close or collect them at any time.

Finally, we would like to thank all our local customers (many of whom we now consider great friends!), plus our own family and friends, who have supported our crazy dream over the past two years. It’s been one hell of a ride that’s for sure!
